Current Vacancies

Âé¶¹Ó³»­ are currently inviting applications for a Greek Language Bilingual Teacher, commencing 23 January 2024. Full time fixed term teaching position term time only.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Director of Early Learning Centre, you will play a key role in fostering a stimulating and inclusive environment, promoting bilingualism, and providing high-quality education to young learners. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a confident, passionate and proactive leader to make their mark on our highly sought after ELC As the ELC bilingual teacher you will work alongside and assist the classroom teacher in order to provide a happy, rigorous, inclusive, nurturing, encouraging, caring and safe learning environment where every student is challenged to achieve their personal best.

Through regular assessment and careful diagnosis, our Learning Enhancement team identifies students who have gaps in their learning journey and embark on the best path forward to address these challenges. Similarly, students who exhibit giftedness or talent are identified and provided with extension opportunities and higher order challenges.

Key requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Years Education or recognised equivalent
  • Proficiency in both Greek and English languages.
  • Experience working with children aged from 2 years to 4 years of age.
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of the developmental needs of children two to five
    years of age, including children with additional needs, with demonstrated experience in this age
    group.
  • Experience in managing multiple staff.
  • A recognised teaching qualification and current registration with the Victorian Institute of
    Teaching (VIT).
  • Extensive knowledge of Child Protection and its implications for the care and protection of
    children.
  • HLTAID 012 Child First Aid Course – First Aid in an Education and Care setting (includes Asthma
    training).
  • Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management training as prescribed in the Education and Care Services
    National Law Act 2010.

    • Certificate IV in School Based Education Support

As the ELC Specialised Co-Educator you will work closely with the Director of ELC to develop specific K3 and K4 lesson plans for each specialised area and work alongside the wider Âé¶¹Ó³»­ teaching staff to explore and integrate creative arts, music and sports programs.

Through regular assessment and careful diagnosis, our Learning Enhancement team identifies students who have gaps in their learning journey and embark on the best path forward to address these challenges. Similarly, students who exhibit giftedness or talent are identified and provided with extension opportunities and higher order challenges.

Key requirements:
    • Minimum requirement of a Diploma in Early Childhood Education Care
    • Current Victorian Working with Children Check (WWCC) card for Employees
    • HLTAID 012 Child First Aid Course – First Aid in an Education and Care setting (includes Asthma training)
    • Anaphylaxis eTraining or equivalent (such as 22578VIC)
    • Obligation of mandatory reporting certificate
    • Experience in developing a lesson plan that incorporates Creative Arts/Physical Education/Music for K3 and K4’s
    • Strong working knowledge and understanding of the developmental needs of children two to five years of age, including children with additional needs, with demonstrated experience in this age group
    • Working knowledge of the National Quality Standards, the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011
    • Capacity to assist in the development and provision of a dynamic and proactive student-focused teaching environment, based upon the Early Years Learning Framework curriculum document and ELC philosophy
    • Food handling certificate
    • Capacity to work with multi-ability groups
    • Positive communication and interpersonal skills with both children and adults
    • Effective and proactive problem solving and decision-making skills
    • Capacity to contribute positively to the Early Learning Centre’s community in a culturally competent manner.
